What Are the Requirements of the IB Program?

To graduate from our IB school in Maryland with an International Baccalaureate diploma, each student must complete two years of relevant study, including the IB core curriculum and one course relating to each of the six subject groups (Language A, Language B, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics and The Arts). The IB core curriculum is made up of three different classes: Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and Community, Action and Service. Students can earn the 24 required points for graduation by completing assessments, writing essays and performing well on exams. While 24 points are required to graduate with an IB diploma, students can earn up to 45.
