What Are the Requirements to Earn an IB Diploma?
Students who receive an IB diploma at our IB private school in Carroll County, MD do so in addition to their traditional high school diploma. Each student must complete two years of relevant study, including the IB core curriculum (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and Community, Action and Service) and at least one course in each of the six subject groups (Language A, Language B, Individuals and Societies, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics and The Arts).
As students successfully complete assessments, essays and exams, they will accrue points towards their IB diploma. 24 points are required to receive an IB diploma, but students can earn up to 45 points in all.
